Rochester is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Rochester is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across New York's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Earlier this year, they finally renovated the bathrooms so that they're cleaner and more modern, with proper sinks and urinals and everything. However, they also made the (in my opinion) boneheaded decision to remove the benches. Putting my duffel bag on the bench as well as being able to sit on it to change, put on sunscreen, etc. was very convenient for me, especially in a relatively open and spacious area. Now, I have to use one of the toilet stalls and hang my bag on the coat hook inside, which isn't nearly as convenient as I don't have as much room unless maybe I use the handicap stall, which I'd rather not do since I don't want to keep any disabled people waiting. I'd also much rather have my duffel bag sitting on the bench rather than hanging on a coat hook when rummaging through it, putting stuff into it, taking stuff out, etc. (I refuse to let my bag touch the bathroom floor, as clean as it may now be).

This is a really nice space! I've been to 2 weddings here and really enjoyed the building and the view. The 2-story building was erected back in the 1930's for use as a public bathhouse. (I'm not 100% sure but it seems like it was a really fancy locker room right on the beach.) The 2nd floor is the space used for entertaining; a very high, peaked ceiling with exposed beams and windows that run the length of the room along the top of the walls so there is a wonderful beach-front breeze when they are open. There is also a large porch area off the back with a stairway with direct access to the beach; The rear of the building backs right up to Charlotte Beach. There is a ramp leading up to the front of the building and an elevator inside so the entire space is wheelchair accessible. I think the only [slight] negative is the parking. There is a loop out front for easy drop-off and pick-up but the only available parking is in the lot(s) across the street. However, it's a very short walk to enjoy a unique building with an interesting history from Rochester's not too distant past.

Attended a wedding recently. Was very surprised at how nice the venue was. Great view of the Lake. Overall it was a great experience. Unfortunately it rained and was cold (that's what they get for an April wedding) so we didn't get to go out to the beach or the garden areas of the venue.
